Trust New Art is the National Trust’s new Contemporary Art Programme. The inaugural exhibition,GardenofReason, will open at Ham House,Richmond-Upon-Thameswith eight newly commissioned works by nine artists. Curated by Tessa Fitzjohn, the exhibition will span the 17th century formal gardens and ice-house of Ham House. As part of their research for the new commissions, the artists were granted access to the Ham House archive of historic documents, plans and drawings that date back to the 1600s. 

Artists in the exhibition: Alexandre da Cunha, Tom Dale, Kathleen Herbert, Graeme Miller, Harold Offeh, Simon Periton & Alan Kane, Ruth Proctor, Daphne Wright.

 

The exhibition runs 28 April – 23 September 2012.
