Biennials Connect | Grants Awarded
In September 2023, we offered grants to UK and eligible international biennials/festivals to showcase contemporary visual artists as part of our Biennials Connect Programme. The grants were offered to facilitate new partnerships, new work, cross-cultural exchange, skills building and showcasing.

Art Without Frontiers | the British Council Collection
Our British Council Collection includes nearly 9,000 pieces by the most major figures in British modern and contemporary art. It is an archive of both unique and distinctive art, with work that represents the rich history and changing landscape of British art.

Art Exchange Moving Image | participants announced
During 2023-2024 LUX and Guest Artists Space Foundation will work with curators in Sub-Saharan Africa to develop a series of exhibition projects responding to moving image works in the British Council Collection. We are happy to announce the following participants on the programme.

Biennials Connect support for Visual Artists 2023
British Council Visual Arts is offering grants of up to £10,000 to UK and eligible international biennials/festivals to support visual artists’ participation. Applications are welcome from UK biennials/festivals wanting to support contemporary international visual artists, and from international biennials/festivals wanting to support contemporary UK visual artists.
