Coming from a ceramic background via St Martins and the Royal College of Art it was strange that I ended up in Fashion. In fact it wasn’t that strange. In retrospect I was extremely fortunate to be taught by tutors at both colleges the ability to approach design in a formulaic way. At the end of the day there is no difference in building a skyscraper to making a sandwich, it’s all down to ingredients and the ability to have a good sense of taste.
