One of three exhibitions shown at the Art Gallery of New South Wales: The ceramic exhibition followed closely after a large survey of Australian and New Zealand work and, the organisers wrote, ‘offer instructive comparisons to local practitioners’. The second exhibition focussed on silver drawn from public and private collections in the UK. The third exhibition was a group of works by young British Painters (1955-9163) drawn from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundattion collection, was the third to report on tendencies in British Art since 1945. Works from Australian collections were added in order to illustrate the developments since the mid-fifties. A catalogue was published by the Art Gallery of New South Wales to accompany the show.
