PETER BLAKE - THE VENICE SUITE
Venice provides inspiration for a beautiful new series of prints by Pop Art legend Peter Blake, best known for his iconic sleeve to The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album. Depicting an imagined vision of the floating city, these prints reveal fantastical scenes of the city in Blake's trademark collage style, incorporating images culled from postcards, photographs and second-hand books, alongside details from familiar old masters and illustrations from vintage children's books. The results are stunning.

Collage
The two-dimensional form of assemblage made by affixing paper, card, photographs, fabric and other objects to a flat surface. It is often combined with painting and drawing techniques. This technique was first introduced by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque in 1912 during their phase of synthetic cubism.
