HENRY MOORE FROM THE INSIDE OUT
An exhibition curated by David Mitchinson of the Henry Moore Foundation. The subject of the exhibition provided an opportunity to present the work of Henry Moore in a way never seen before. Although Moore was well known internationally for his monumental sculptures sited out of doors in many major cities, the plasters are less well known than the casts that were made from them, respresenting as they do a stage in the working process towards the final bronze editions. They have been infrequently exhibited and appear only occasionally in monographs on the artist and in catalogues of his work. This exhibition therefore offered a unique chance to see a great number of these plasters and to view them beside a selection of Moore’s drawings and carvings made over the last 60 years of his working life.
