Summary
My work re-examines familiar historical pottery idioms within a contemporary context and celebrate the social, cultural and multi-sensory aspect of pottery and its ambiguous occupation of space. Where does pottery live? By the placing and display of functional pottery on site specific stands or ‘grounds’ I frame the work, and give groups or single pieces a resting place from nomadic movement to a place of calm.
