An immensely popular exhibition retrospetive selected by Maurice Tuchman and Stephenie Barron in close collaboration with the artist, originated from the Los Angeles County Musuem.  A number of new paintings were added for the exhibition at the Tate Gallery and the area devoted to these works was installed by Davud Hockney.  Hockney also designed two special posters and recorded an outstandingly successful guided tour of the exhibition.
