BRITISH SCULPTURE IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY: PART 1 IMAGE AND FORM 1910-1950

An exhibition of over 300 works drawn from public and private collections selected by Nicholas Serota and Sandy Nairne. The exhibition was divided into two parts: part 1 Image and Form 1901-1940 showing from 11 September to 1 November 1981, part 2 Symbol and Imagination 1951-1980 shown from 27 November – 24 January 1981/2. A catalogue, with essays By Jane Beckett, Richard Francis, Richard Shone, Richard Cork amongst others, was published to accompany the exhibition. ISBN 0 85488 0542
