An major retrospective of one of the best-known British artists of the twentieth century in celebration of the centenary of his birth.  The exhibition included 135 works, paintings, works on paper, and sculptures, and was selected by Jeremy Lewison.  There was also an extensive documentary section of letters, catalogues and photographs, largely drawn from the Nicholson papers held in the Tate Gallery Archive (Tate only)

A substantial catalogue was published in two editions (English and French) which included a series of essays covering various aspects of the artist’s career, a detailed chronology of his life, catalogue entries and a bibliography.
