David Shrigley’s exhibition, Lose Your Mind, is now its final weeks at the Museo De Arte Contemporaneo in Santiago, Chile. This is the first time that Shrigley’s work has been shown in Chile and the show has been a “great success” for the museum, with 13,000 visitors so far, including just over 3,000 visitors on one day for the Heritage Day (Día del Patrimonio). Lose Your Mind closes in Santiago on 31 July 2016.
The British Council has been collecting and touring David Shrigley’s work for twenty years and this exhibition demonstrates this long-term relationship by bringing together some of Shrigley’s early works from the British Council Collection, such as Leaf (1995), alongside more recent acquisitions, such as Ostrich (2009) and a colourful series of monoprints.
Shrigley’s next major commission is unveiled on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Sqaure, London, on 29 September 2016.
