Following the success of Damien Hirst’s New Religion in Banja Luka, Bosnia, where it was seen by over 20,000 visitors, the exhibition has travelled to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, Macedonia, where it opens to the public on 22 June.
New Religion is an exhibition of silkscreen prints and sculptural editions by one of the world’s most significant contemporary artist. Hirst’s show explores the complex relationship between mortality and faith, and a fascination with science and technology - these are central themes in his work.
Since it was first exhibited at Paul Stolper Gallery (UK) in 2005, New Religion has travelled to Oslo, Moscow, Venice, Sofia, Woking, Gdansk and at All Hallow's Church in London. The installation is presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje in association with Paul Stolper Gallery and the British Council.
