Leonard Huskinson (1905 – 1974)
Huskinson is best known as a book illustrator; his, publications include Tom Brown’s Schooldays and Phineas Redux. He was born in Nottingham and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art. He had a solo show at the Beaux Arts Gallery, London (1934) where the catalogue notes that ‘he showed more than ordinary artistic promise’. Huskinson taught for a time at Radley College, Oxford later becoming a chief examiner for the Oxford and Cambridge Joint Exam Board.
