Summary
“A hole is cut by hand out of a sheet of paper. The shape of the hole follows the silhouette contour of a ubiquitous consumer product whose effects on us is both visible and invisible. The paper with the cut-hole is folded turning a flat plane into a standing object. The absent product hovers around this two/three dimensional hole. These paper cut-outs relate to a set of four cibachrome photographs of the same title in which similar holes were cut out of lengths of natural woven cloth.”

Cibachrome
A particular type of reversal paper and printing process, which makes it possible to obtain richly coloured prints from positive transparencies without an intermediary negative. This process creates a finely detailed and long lasting print. (see Ilfochrome Classic)
