Summary
This work belongs to group of pieces under the generic title Rough and Ready. They were made from rough hewn and untreated timber, screwed together and covered with a second-hand blanket taped to the frame. The artist described the materials as being of the sort 'you could find in a skip. Too much energy is wasted in putting things together in contrived ways. The aim of this (work) is to show that you can make perfectly good (furniture) by reutilising what exists already’.
