Teachers, parents and carers: you can now use two new British Council Collection activity packs to support with learning.
The British Council collects ground-breaking works of art by British and UK-based artists to share the best of UK modern and contemporary art with audiences around the world.
Now school children throughout the UK can explore the works in the British Council Collection by artists including Grayson Perry, 2017 Turner Prize winner Lubaina Himid, photographer Suki Dhanda and David Shrigley.
Free, flexible activities to explore
The activities are free, flexible and allow students to explore, create their own art and take action in their everyday lives.
As well as investigating contemporary artists, students will learn about the Global Goals For Sustainable Development – these are goals set by global leaders that aim to end poverty, fight inequality and address the urgency of climate change by 2030.
By exploring the artworks and getting creative, students are encouraged to consider global issues in different ways.
There are separate activity packs for primary and secondary school children, and each pack is arranged around three different challenges that help to develop core and transferable skills.
Find the activities on the British Council Connecting Classrooms site:
