Summary
The sitter for this drawing was Miss Siderman (d. 1963) and described by the artist as a ‘little Jewish girl of 13 or so with red-hair’. Some paintings of her have been known as The Frame-Maker’s Daughter which perhaps explains how she came to model for Sickert. The work is clearly inscribed at the bottom left le petit Jesus
