Summary
The modern quarter of Mathb'ah on the edge of Sana'a is representative of much modern architecture inthe region - an Arabia concreta where structures are hastily constructed from breeze block to satisfy the demandsof a rapidly increasing population. I became fond of areas like Mathb'ah because they were more real than the romantic idealized depictions of Yemen of popular guidebooks.
