Summary
Rock's first commercially successful supergroup, all three members of Cream were in renowned blues and R&B bands in the 1960s. They only made four albums together, but carved out a niche for themselves, becoming very influential in many different rock sub-genres. The progressive rock of Rush and the heavy metal of Black Sabbath both took note from Cream's jam-based live shows and tightly constructed albums. After their final album 'Goodbye', Eric Clapton went onto have a very successful career as a solo artist. Bassist Jack Bruce had a long career collaborating with other artists such as Lou Reed and Ringo Starr, while drummer Ginger Baker travelled to Africa to make music with Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti.

Metal
Metal is a medium frequently used by artists to make art works - from sculpture to printmaking. Surfaces can display an array of colours and textures, and are capable of being polished to a high gloss; metal can be melted, cast, or fused, hammered into thin sheets, or drawn into wire.
