Summary
Few songs have an opening as memorable or audacious as Arthur Brown shouting “I am the god of hellfire!”. That single, ‘Fire’ rocketed straight to number one in the UK and established its maker as a true icon of the psychedelic scene. The Crazy World of Arthur Brown only stayed together long enough to release one album in the 60s, but their impact made waves that are still felt today. Often described as the Godfather of Shock Rock, the likes of Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson and The Damned owe Arthur Brown a significant debt.
