Summary
George Newnes (1851-1910) was a publisher and editor. His best known publication is undoubtedly The Strand Magazine, but his most popular periodical was Tit-Bits which had a circulation of over 600,000 in its heyday and comprised extracts from books and other publications. A formula that was reworked for seasonal holiday publications.
