Summary
A few concrete vegetables were made originally by my mother and grandmother. You might say their manufacture is a kind of family tradition. I make them these days as a fine art multiple object. I like the fact that they have made the transition from folk art eccentricity to fine art multiple. Each vegetable is unique, decorated in a particular way by the artist. It is the activity of making them rather than the object that fascinates me. My wife and I are presently teaching our son and daughter to make concrete vegetable sculpture.

Sculpture
A three-dimensional work of art. Such works may be carved, modelled, constructed, or cast. Sculptures can also be described as assemblage, in the round, relief, and made in a huge variety of media. Contemporary practice also includes live elements, as in Gilbert & George 'Living Sculpture' as well as broadcast work, radio or sound sculpture.
