Music by Franz Lehár, book and lyrics by Leo Stein and Bela Jenbach and first presented at Daly's Theatre, London in February 1927 . The plot centre on Julian Olinski, a Polish count and ex-playboyas he prepares to celebrate his wedding to Blanca von Lossin. She however is not satisfied that he has left his past left behind him and her suspicions seem confirmed when Julian's old flame Gretl turns up. Blanca overhears Julian’s confession to his best friend Adolar that married life might be tedious. Blanca runs off to take refuge with Adolar's uncle and it takes all Gretl and Adolar's wiles and charm to finally bring about the reconciliation of the hapless pair.
