Edward Gardiner (1880 – 1958)
Edward Gardiner initially worked with Ernest Gimson in Daneway, Gloucestershire, and later for himself, producing works in the Arts and Crafts style. The Clissett chair was a result of design modifications by the Scottish architect James MacLaren in 1896 to local West Midlands chair designs. The Bedale chair was designed for the memorial library at Bedales School.
