Richard Davies (1944 – )
Richard Davies, born on the Isle of Wright in 1944, attended the Portsmouth College of Art where he studied painting and later the Royal College of Art, London where he focused on printmaking.
During his career Davies worked in Paris in the studio of Jean Jacque de Broutelle and taught at the London College of Printing. Since 1983 he has been Head of Printmaking in the School of Fine Art at Canterbury College.
One of Davies' notable works is London From The Thames, a series of screenprints for which the artist made numerous trips up and down the river to capture the changing city.
His works are held in private collections and museums in many countries including Europe, USA, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.
