Christopher Corr (1955 – )
Christopher Corr is an artist and teacher, born in London in 1955 to Irish parents.
Corr gained an honours degree in graphic design from Manchester Polytechnic and an MA in illustration from the Royal College of Art. In 1979 he won the Leverhulme Travelling scholarship to America and in 1980 he won the Royal College of Art drawing prize; many other awards have since followed.
Group exhibitions have included the Hayward Annual Drawing Exhibition, in 1982 and Made in China at the, Curwen Gallery in 1987.
Individual presentations of his work have taken place at Berkeley Square Gallery and Greene Gallery, Connecticut, both in 1990, and Berkeley Square again in 2002.
Corr taught drawing and print-making at Central St Martins College and has worked as a visiting lecturer at many other institutions.
Throughout his career Corr travelled extensively and many of his works are deeply inspired by this experience of other cultures. His works have appeared not only in galleries, but also on book jackets, stamps and posters.

Drawing
The depiction of shapes and forms on a flat surface chiefly by means of lines although colour and shading may also be included. Materials most commonly used are pencil, ink, crayon, charcoal, chalk and pastel, although other materials, including paint, can be used in combination.
