An exhibition organised by the British Council and toured in Canada by the National Gallery of Canada. An exhibition of 56 paintings selected by a committee chaired by Sir Philip Hendy, Director of the National Gallery, London. A bi-lingual (English/French) catalogue, with an introduction by David Thompson, was published by the National Gallery of Canada to accompany the show. No ISBN.
The exhibition in Iceland comprised 27 works by nine artists: Alan Davie, Terry Frost, Roger Hilton, Peter Lanyon, Ben Nicholson, William Scott, Graham Sutherland, Keith Vaughan and Bryan Wynter.
In Denmark paintings by Francis Bacon, Ceri Richards and Ben Nihcolson were added to the exhibition at the request of the Director of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition subsequerntly travelled to Belgrade, Skopje, Zagreb, Cairo, Alexandria and Gibraltar April 1965-October 1966
