Summary

Once the bowl has been thrown Fisher manipulates the clay: kneading, pressing and stretching it until the walls become varied in thickness. With their often creased and rippled surfaces, the bowls lose their spherical regularity and take on an almost paper-like quality. The artist is absorbed by this freedom of approach to explore the wet elasticity of the clay and the whole metamorphosis that it undergoes.
