Exhibiton selected by Tom Phillips and Henry Meyric-Hughes. The exhibition showed the work of six artists who work combined words and images in painting, works on paper and photographs. The artists were Ian Breakwell, John Furnival, Dom Sylvester Houedard, David Leverett, Jeff Instone and Tom Phillips. The title of the exhibition was described by Tom Phillips as ‘Plato, discussing the relationship between word and thing, gives to Cratylus the thought that words are the actualities of life and that things are merely the representation of words, their expression.’ A catalogue was published by the British Council. No ISBN.
