Summary

Whiteleaf Cross is an ancient cross carved into the side of a hill in The Chilterns near Princes Risborough. The antique mystery of the cross had a special significance for Nash. A painting of the same subject is in the collection of the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester www.whitworth.man.ac.uk
