Summary

Designed for J Eno Ltd, Kauffer’s crowing cockerel appeared in many versions and sizes including 16 sheet hoardings. So pleased were the company with the success of the poster that Kauffer received a cheque for £50 on top of his original fee.[1] Eno’s Fruit Salts was a mixture of sodium bicarbonate, citric acid and sodium carbonate, sometimes referred to as effervescent saline to was a common remedy for indigestion.
