Gross moved to France in 1927 to study at the Académie Julien in Paris, and to study engraving at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. In 1930 he married Marcelle Florenty (Daisy), and they set up home in Paris, spending the summers in Villeneuve-sur-Lot. This etching shows Daisy, on foot, accompanied by niece Hugette on a bicycle.
