Bob Chaplin, born in Hastings, Sussex in 1947, studied at the Ravensbourne and Brighton Colleges of Art. His artistic practice mainly deals with photography, printmaking and film and his works have been included in shows both at the V&A and Tate Gallery.

During his career as a teacher Chaplin held positions at West Sussex College of Design and Chelsea, Brighton, Ravensbourne and Maidstone Colleges of Art.

He participated in international print biennales in Krakov, Llubljana, Biella, Florence, Wakayama, Kanagawa and Frerikstad and his solo shows include Riverside Studios, Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol and Gardner Art Centre.

He lived in London and later in New York.
