Kate Belton was born in Wrexham, Wales in 1972 but has lived and worked in London for most of her life. While in London Belton gained a BA in painting from Central St Martin’s and then her master’s from the Royal College of Art.

She is very well known for her photographs of purpose built-environments where the boundaries between photography, painting, fiction and reality are blurred.

Belton has taken part in various solo and group exhibitions both in Britain and abroad: her first solo show was held at Jason and Rhodes gallery in London and her work is held by many institutions such as the British Council, British Airways, Deutsche Bank and John Moores.
